I decided to make a 2 by 4 enclosure because I wanted to get better at working with wood and drilling.

The drill press table was broken on Sunday so I used this big stack of blocks to lift my wood block up to the drill. Unfortunately, this still was not high enough and the clamp could not fit more blocks.

this was as deep as it would go

Ben said that I can use the hand drill do to my hole so I could reach the right depth - this was pretty scary and I decided it's not a good idea to attempt it again because the drill can shift.

I finally figured out a placement of the blocks that reached the right height for the drill press. The most frustrating aspect of this configuration was that if I got my block in the right position, as soon as I tried to clamp it down all the blocks below would shift because there were so many. This made it really hard to drill in the right position. I was originally going to hollow out the entire block but gave up because of how long just these four holes took.

I decided that I would laser cut the top piece. I wanted to fit an LED and a button.

I used the drill press to drill four holes the right size for my 8 x 1-1/2 scews.
