I made a little cup flashlight. Since my LED was small, I wanted to enclose it in something that would emphasize the light a little more. I tried wrapping it in aluminum foil, then placing it in the center of a metal bowl with reflective sides, then decided on this plastic cup because it provided both transparency and reflectiveness.

I cut out two identical cardboard circles with an X-Acto knife for the bottom of the cup and the base. I then cut out a strip of cardboard with lines sliced through for the border so that it would bend in a circle instead of creasing.

I wasn't sure how I should attach the coin battery to the base. I thought of cutting more cardboard to make a stand for it. It was Julia's idea to just hot glue it in the center, then the two LED legs could fit around it.

This is the bottom of the cup, with the two LED legs sticking through.
